Hilton Head Eco Tours with Live Oac

Eco Tours

Live Oac offers a number of eco tours with specialized focuses and approaches.

All of Live Oac’s Dolphin Tours are full fledged eco tours that include a focus beyond just dolphin watching. We explore and discuss the salt marsh ecosystem, its wide variety inhabitants and the connections with the history and culture of the island. Our captains have years of experience exploring the Hilton Head waters and conveying information in a way that’s interesting and fun. We’re excited to share our passion for this beautiful island and the adventures that await. If you have a particular interest, let us know and we can custom design a trip with you in mind. And if you’re not sure what trip is best for your group, call us and we’ll use our years of experience to match you with the best captain and best approach.

Here are some of our most popular outings:

Live Oac's Hilton Head Eco Tours:

3 Hours — A broad overview of the Lowcountry area between Hilton Head and the mainland.
2 to 3 Hours — An eco tour with a visit to a beach for exploring. We’ll see dolphin and other wildlife, too.
1 to 2 Hours — We’ll throw a cast net and hopefully get to see some bait fish or other critters up close. Expect to see dolphin on this trip, too!
2 Hours — Visit an eagle’s nest deep in the wildlife refuge near high tide. Includes an opportunity for dolphin watching and discussions of the salt marsh ecosystem.
2 Hours — A Low Tide excursion to see the exposed oyster beds, shell banks, mud flats, and creeks where it’s “feeding time” for the birds and other critters, including dolphin.
2 Hours — A circumnavigation of Pinckney Island which traverses the heart of the wildlife refuge. See dolphin and other wildlife along the way. Can be combined with watersports like tubing, too!
2 Hours — Our most popular Eco Tour, viewing dolphin and other wildlife in and around Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge.
2 Hours — A dolphin eco tour that ends around sunset. Best from May through September when it’s warm and comfortable.
1 Hour — Our shortest ecotour with a focus on dolphin watching. Recommended for kids 3 and under but available for all ages!
1½ hours — A value oriented trip that provides a nice balance of exploration and duration. While our 2 hour trip is the most popular, this offers an alternative that fits some groups best.
