Sand & Sea™ Beachcombing Adventure
A great trip that combines time on the water with time on a remote beach, sandbar, or shellbank. See some dolphin along the way and stretch your legs exploring on land, too. We avoid the busy “Vanishing Island” and instead prefer a more remote area for some R&R away from the island crowds. Spend time beachcombing, learning about wildlife, or just kicking back in the sun. Some groups choose to incorporate some tubing behind the boat or other watersports (more time is recommended).
There's opportunity for exploring and dolphin watching while enjoying the trip there and back. Isn't the journey what it's all about, anyway?

1½ HOURSThe 1½ hour trip is our most popular eco tour length, and seems to be that "just right" amount of time for fun on the water without overdoing it.
We do offer a variety of programs from 1 hour to 2½ hours or more, and we're glad to customize any adventure, even if you'd like to spend the better part of the day on the water. -
ALL AGES (4+ RECO)This trip is available for All Ages of participants. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For children 3 and under, we strongly recommend our abbreviated 1 hour eco tour, called the Out & Back™ Dolphin Tour. In our experience, 1 hour is plenty of time to get out and see dolphin and best matches the attention span of our youngest guests. However, you know your children better than we do, so if you think they’re fine for a 90 minute or 2 hour trip, you are welcome to make that choice.

BACKCOUNTRYThe Backcountry includes the inshore waterways like tidal creeks, marshes, rivers & sounds. These are typically calmer water excursions, where you don't have to worry about your "sea legs". Crossing the Hilton Head Bridge from the mainland gives a great view of some of the backcountry waters we explore.

MAR‑OCTBeachcombing runs MAR thru OCT, with warm weather. Getting from boat to beach means getting a bit wet. The depth depends on destination and tide as to whether that means wet feet, waist-wading, or mostly-swimming. Depending on your group's needs and the time of year, we plan accordingly. But when it's legit "cold" weather and water, we don't go. If you're curious on water comfort, dip a toe/leg/body in at the beach. It's about the same temp on the backcountry side.
